Staff Psychologist

Experteer Overview In this role you will deliver full-spectrum psychological care to Veterans in the outpatient mental health clinic at the Albany VA Medical Center, including PTSD-focused treatment. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessments, evidence-based therapies, and peer consultations; supervision of non-licensed staff may be required and program leadership duties could arise. The position supports teaching and training of trainees and residents, and may involve research and program evaluation to inform care. This role offers the chance to shape mental health services and contribute to VA's mission of improving Veteran health. Compensation / Benefits • Provide full range of psychological services using appropriate diagnostic assessments and psychotherapeutic techniques • Perform evaluations tailored to the patient population • Deliver clinical interventions specific to the clinical area and specialty • Provide clinical supervision for non-licensed psychology providers • Possibly assume supervisory or program management duties and ancillary responsibilities • Optionally supervise a small number of professionals and/or non-professional staff • Engage in program evaluation and/or research activities as assigned • Independently provide services across levels of complexity and consult with peers/supervisors as needed • Meet licensure and ethical standards in clinical care and supervision • Participate in teaching/training activities for students, residents, and trainees • Serve as a consultant to medical center staff and contribute to treatment planning and expectations • Represent psychology in leadership roles and committees as appropriate Tasks • Experience delivering a full range of psychological services in an outpatient setting • Ability to supervise and mentor staff; potential program management duties • Involvement in teaching, training, and consultation activities • Engagement in program evaluation or research activities • Compliance with psychology licensure standards and ethics Key requirements • Paid time off and federal holidays • Parental leave after 12 months • Child care subsidy for eligible families • Traditional federal pension and VA 401K contributions • Federal health/vision/dental/long-term care insurance • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) eligibility
