Experteer Overview In this role you provide comprehensive psychiatric care within the correctional system as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will perform evaluations, diagnose and treat mental health conditions, and adjust care through follow-ups. The work centers on culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment for incarcerated individuals. You will collaborate with other clinicians to develop and implement treatment plans and competency restoration efforts. Compensation / Benefits • Conduct psychiatric screenings, evaluations, and exams • Order and interpret diagnostic tests; diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions • Administer treatments, medications, and therapies; conduct follow-up and adjust plans • Collaborate with licensed physicians and healthcare providers on diagnoses and treatment plans • Support competency restoration and correctional mental health services Tasks • License and current NYS registration to practice medicine • ABPN board certification (for Psychiatrist 2) or ABPN training approval (for Psychiatrist 1) • Or internal state service transfer eligibility under Civil Service rules for a competitive appointment Key requirements • Loan Repayment Program up to $120,000 • Supplemental income up to 50% for after-hours coverage • Defense and Indemnification Protection • Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program • Generous paid time off • NYS medical, dental, & vision insurance
