Rogue River Counseling is an established practice in the Annapolis area dedicated to walking with clients struggling with trauma and addiction - and now, we are expanding!

We are launching a specialty practice dedicated to the mental health and performance needs of youth and young adult athletes. Our mission is to support athletes in building confidence, managing pressure, navigating injury recovery, and developing the emotional resilience needed both in sports and in life.

We are seeking therapists who are passionate about both clinical mental health and sports psychology. If you love working with young people, understand the athlete mindset, and want to help build something meaningful from the ground up, we’d love to meet you and collaborate.

What You'll Do

This is a clinical role working primarily with youth and young adult athletes (ages 8–28) with room to expand. You will provide individual or group therapy, collaborate with families, and, if interested, help develop programming such as team workshops, parent seminars, and performance-skills sessions. You'll support clients with performance anxiety, identity issues, burnout, confidence, and injury-related and injury-recovery mental health,

What You'll Love

  • Opportunity to be part of a new, mission-driven practice with room for creativity
  • Flexible scheduling (weekends optional but welcomed)
  • Professional support, supervision (if needed), and ongoing development
  • Chance to help create a unique athlete-focused mental health program from the ground up

What We're Looking For

  • LCPC/LGPC or LMSW/LCSW, or equivalent license in Maryland if relocating from out of state
  • Strong interest in sports psychology, performance mindset, or working with young athletes. You do not need to be an expert in sports psychology but a willingness to pursue training and certifications is required
  • Comfort working with youth, young adults, and families, or collaborating with coaches and athletic programs
  • Excited to build something new
  • Experience as an athlete is a plus, but not required

If you’re passionate about supporting young athletes and want to help build an innovative new program, we’d love to talk more about how we can work together.
