Location: Maryland (Virtual or Hybrid Options Available)
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
Compensation: Clinical earnings typically range from $100–$300/hour depending on services provided and payer mix
About the Role
We are a collaborative, therapist-centered outpatient mental health practice seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist to join our team in a dual role providing patient care and serving as Medical Director.
This position is ideal for a psychiatrist who enjoys outpatient work, values interdisciplinary collaboration, and wants a meaningful leadership voice without an overwhelming administrative burden.
You’ll spend the vast majority of your time providing care to your own caseload, with limited and clearly defined Medical Director responsibilities.
Clinical Responsibilities (Primary Focus)
- Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management
- Patient population ranges across the lifespan depending on your preference
- Clinical presentations are typically low to moderate acuity in an outpatient setting
- Work collaboratively with a team of therapists and administrative staff to support coordinated care
- Flexible scheduling with fully virtual or hybrid options available
Medical Director Responsibilities (Limited & Structured)
This role includes a small leadership component designed to support quality care without creating administrative overload.
Expectations include approximately 1 hour per week on average, which typically involves:
- Providing psychiatric oversight for two part-time psychiatric nurse practitioners
- Offering clinical consultation and chart review as needed
- Supporting best practices in psychiatric care within the practice
- Contributing your expertise to help shape and refine psychiatric services
There are no large teams to supervise and no heavy administrative committees — this is a focused, supportive oversight role.
