Bilingual MST Therapist / Social Worker

Excellent opportunity to join a pioneer in community-based services that impact at-risk youth and families. Implement highly researched, intensive, in-home services that result in successful outcomes!

  • Geographic location: Essex/Hudson Counties
  • Annual Salary: $63,000 (Bachelor Level) / $68,250 (Master Level)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday days/evenings (flexibility required)
  • On-call participation required
  • Caseload: 5-6 families
  • Frequency of visits: 3-4 sessions per week
  • Mileage reimbursement: $.72/mile
  • Provided: iPhone and Laptop

This program is targeted to help families with at-risk youth (ages of 12-17) become healthy and productive citizens. Youth are referred by child welfare, juvenile services, or the criminal justice system, to addresses a history of destructive behaviors, substance abuse, and/or gang related involvement. A family-focused, evidence based therapeutic model focuses on building an effective support network of individuals to positively impact youth and their families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct clinical treatment using the MST treatment model and principles. Some principles include leveraging strengths and focusing on the positive, understanding sequences of behavior, and increasing mature behavior.
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the client and family by obtaining information on behaviors of concern and strengths in the family.
  • Continuously work to engage the primary caregiver, family members, supports, and community agency staff in change-oriented treatment.
  • Dedicate time to weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress, with ongoing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Services or related field
  • Two (2) years of work experience in social work or clinical treatment preferred
  • Valid driver’s license/insurance and ability to travel to clients up to 75% of the time. Must be open to transporting families as needed.
  • Must live within 30-45 minutes travel time from the designated service area.
