Experteer Overview As a Psychiatrist 2 in OMH, you support State Operated Adult Services with clinical leadership and policy guidance. You will act as the Assistant Medical Director, guiding clinicians, shaping care quality, and implementing best practices across inpatient, outpatient, and community programs. You lead cross‑functional initiatives such as EHR modernization and clinical policy development, collaborating with Medical Directors and field staff. This role offers engagement with academic partners and opportunities to influence statewide mental health service delivery. You will contribute to strategic planning, risk management, and population health improvements to advance OMH's mission. Compensation / Benefits • Provide clinical input on OMH initiatives and collaborate on policies, procedures, and practices across state-operated and licensed programs. • Serve on Central Office committees and liaise with other agencies on policy implementation and program outcomes. • Lead clinical aspects of EHR implementation across multiple hospitals, coordinating with discipline leads and the EHR vendor. • Offer clinical guidance to Clinical Directors, review high-risk cases, and support best-practice dissemination to facilities. • Manage the Psychiatric Center Consult Service and advise on CMS and The Joint Commission issues affecting care delivery. • Support reductions in length of stay, increased discharges, and improved access across facilities. • Assist in regulatory interpretation and oversight, and participate in special projects (e.g., tobacco treatment, population health). • Engage in academic affiliations and supervise education opportunities for residents/fellows where appropriate. Tasks • Valid license to practice medicine in New York State or eligible for limited permit with reciprocal eligibility • Certification in General Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology • Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in Medicaid and Medicare programs • Ability to obtain license within one year of limited permit issuance • No exclusions from Medicaid/Medicare lists; able to enroll as a Medicare provider if required Key requirements • telecommuting available • academic affiliation opportunities • competitive salary • opportunities for professional development • public sector benefits
