Experteer Overview As a Psychiatrist at OMH, you deliver comprehensive, recovery-oriented psychiatric care to individuals served by the agency. You will work within a team at the Wende Satellite Unit to integrate mental and physical health services and act as a primary prescriber in psychopharmacology. You may supervise lower-level staff and lead care for an assigned facility or program. This role offers a direct impact on underserved populations and opportunities for professional growth within a public health system. Compensation / Benefits • Diagnose, treat, and prescribe for assigned individuals under supervision (Psychiatrist 1) or independently (Psychiatrist 2) • Provide psychiatric care and treatment services aligned with recovery-oriented principles • Prescribe psychotropic medications as a primary prescriber • Offer clinical supervision and guidance to lower-level psychiatrists and other medical providers (Psychiatrist 2) • Manage care for an assigned facility, unit, or program (Psychiatrist 2) • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate psychiatric and medical care Tasks • License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State • ABPN board certification or eligibility as applicable (ABPN approval for psychiatry) • For internal candidates: one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in an eligible title for transfer under Civil Service Law 70.1 • Background checks and compliance with Medicaid/Medicare exclusions Key requirements • Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program up to $120,000 • Supplemental income up to 50% for after-hours coverage • NYS medical, dental, & vision insurance • Tuition assistance programs • Paid time off including vacation, personal days, holidays, and sick leave • NYS Retirement programs
