A dynamic opportunity is available for a dedicated Social Worker to serve within an elementary school setting in Arlington Heights, IL. This contract position spans the full school year and provides the chance to make a meaningful impact on young students' lives by addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement intervention plans.
- Provide counseling and support services to students to promote positive development.
- Facilitate group sessions focused on social skills, coping strategies, and conflict resolution.
- Connect families with community resources and support services as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with relevant school policies and regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs).
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid license or certification to practice social work in the state.
- Experience working within school settings, particularly with elementary-aged children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Familiarity with community resources and mental health support services.
- Commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the educational environment.
