The Seminole Tribe of Florida's Center for Behavioral Health department is a CARF accredited mental and behavioral health outpatient provider for adults, adolescents and children. CBH provides a comprehensive array of behavioral health services including: substance abuse and mental health therapy, psychiatric services for children and adults, psychological services for children and adults, crisis intervention and stabilization, case management, prevention initiatives year-round and a 24 hour on call service to the tribal communities. The Big Cypress Reservation is located at 31055 Josie Billie Hwy., Clewiston, Florida 33440. Schedule is full-time in-person Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, however flexibility is needed for community events as well as being part of an on-call rotation for after-hours.

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing in-depth individual, group, or family counseling services to Tribal Members located at the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s assigned reservation(s). Counseling includes the following areas: co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, elder abuse, alcohol abuse and/or drug abuse. Work involves the application of a variety of advanced mental health service delivery skills (e.g., therapeutic interventions, diagnostic/assessment techniques, etc.). Additionally, work may encompass the use of group methodologies and skill training within established policies and procedures. The individual may also provide training in parenting skills through classes or group methods. Employees in this class perform duties with some autonomy; makes independent judgments within established policies and procedures.

Qualifications / Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, or Family Therapy is required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a behavioral health field, including experience working with multi-diagnosed individuals (e.g. mental health disorders/substance dependence-related conditions); family systems and/or community-based treatments is required. Florida State License as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), license as Mental Health Counselor (MHC) or License as Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is required. Certification of Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), Certified Associates Addictions Professional (CAAP), or Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) in the State of Florida, or with the Indian Health Services (IHS) /United South & Eastern Tribes (USET) Certification Board is preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based treatment. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
