Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Monitor and observe patients closely to assess their mental state, behavior, and response to treatment plans.
- Assist in implementing psychiatric treatment plans under the supervision of licensed clinicians, including medication administration as prescribed.
- Conduct crisis interventions promptly and effectively to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations, ensuring safety for patients and staff alike.
- Support patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility, fostering independence and dignity.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting patient observations, interventions, and progress in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care strategies that address behavioral health needs.
- Participate in patient care meetings, contributing insights on patient behavior management and treatment effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Psychiatric Technician or equivalent credential from an accredited licensing board.
- Proven experience working in psychiatric or mental health settings, including acute care or hospital environments.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatry principles, crisis intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and medical records documentation.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in correctional facility medical clinics is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient observation skills combined with the ability to monitor multiple patients simultaneously in high-pressure situations.
