Mental Health Counselor

The Mental Health Counselor candidate will be able to provide counseling services to individuals and families to support emotional and mental well-being. This role addresses a broad range of concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral challenges, family and marital issues, stress, grief, self-esteem, and substance use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to work 1 day per week during late/early afternoon/evening hours.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Evaluate clients’ mental and emotional functioning based on self-reported information and clinical presentation.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.
  • Identify treatment goals collaboratively with clients and guide them toward realistic and appropriate objectives.
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment approaches as needed.
  • Assess risk factors, including abuse and suicide risk, and respond according to accepted clinical standards.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, community resources, and other professionals as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on assessments and treatment planning.
  • Advocate for clients and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Participate in professional development to remain current with best practices.
  • Support outreach, educational workshops, and approved marketing activities for the practice.
  • Perform related administrative duties, including scheduling and correspondence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of counseling theories, practices, and ethical standards.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office technology.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling.
  • Active LPC or LPCC licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience.

Pay: $10,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
