About the Role: We are seeking a Lead Behavior Technician to support a group of early learners with autism who are developing foundational skills in attention, communication, and social engagement. This is a hands-on role combining:
- direct therapy with clients
- mentorship and leadership for Behavior Technicians (BTs)
You’ll play a key role in helping both clients and staff grow.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Support learners who may have:
- limited attention span
- minimal social initiation
- communication delays
- difficulty engaging with others
- Help create a structured, engaging learning environment
- Model sessions and strategies for other BTs
- Provide real-time support and guidance to staff during sessions
- Collaborate with BCBAs to ensure consistent implementation of programs
- Help newer staff build confidence and skill in working with early learners
What This Role Is Like: This role is active, fast-paced, and highly interactive. Some sessions may include:
- supporting children who are not yet engaged with tasks or people
- working through moments of frustration or refusal
- using creativity and persistence to build connection and learning
Progress often happens in small but meaningful steps.We provide strong clinical support, but this role requires:
- patience
- flexibility
- comfort with challenges
- ability to stay calm and supportive in difficult moments
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children (ABA, special education, childcare, or related)
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to support and guide other staff in a positive, constructive way
- Comfort working with early learners who need support with engagement and communication
- Willingness to receive and implement feedback
- Reliable, consistent, and team-oriented
Preferred:
- RBT certification or working toward certification
- Experience in ABA or early intervention
- Experience mentoring or training others
