School Social Worker - Joliet, IL

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A therapeutic special education cooperative in Burbank, IL, is seeking a full-time Social Worker to support students within their Autism programs. This position is initially for the remainder of the school year with the potential to continue into the next academic year as the cooperative seeks to expand its social work team due to program growth.

Location: Burbank, Illinois
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Hours: 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide social work services to students with Autism spectrum disorders, including those with lower cognitive and intellectual abilities and some nonverbal students
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and parents to develop and implement individualized support plans
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to program development

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Social Worker license, certification, or PEL appropriate for school settings
• Experience working with students with Autism and other special needs in a school or therapeutic environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage caseloads supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
