A licensed School Social Worker opportunity is available for a temporary FMLA leave coverage position in Minneapolis, MN. This onsite contract role runs from April 6, 2026, to May 8, 2026, supporting students in grades 3 through 12. The position involves working within a school setting serving a diverse student population of approximately 220, with an active caseload of 23 direct service students, growing to 25 post-spring break, and a total of 43 students receiving IEP services.

Key responsibilities include providing both direct and indirect social work support to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges that may impact academic success. The role requires administering special education due process duties, serving as an administrative designee on IEP teams, facilitating meetings, documenting notes, and completing related paperwork. Collaboration with staff, families, and school administration is essential to ensure holistic support for each student. Additionally, running individual sessions and two social skills groups will be part of the daily workflow.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Bachelors degree in education or a closely related field
• Valid License as a School Social Worker issued by the states Department of Education
• School-based experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of student social and emotional needs
