The Horsham Clinic is seeking a dedicated and empowering certified Addictions Counselor to join our team!

We are currently hiring for a per diem role. This is the perfect opportunity for those looking to gain additional experience in a behavioral health setting where you can assist our patients and Counseling Department on an as needed basis.

The Addictions Counselor assesses the patient’s drug and alcohol history to establish treatment goals and provides therapeutic and educational services in a manner consistent with the philosophy of the Horsham Clinic.

About Horsham:

For more than 60 years, The Horsham Clinic has helped children, teens, adults, and older adults manage and overcome a number of mental health issues at its 55-acre campus nestled in Ambler, Pennsylvania. We have a total of 206 licensed acute beds and are one of the largest providers of acute inpatient services in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

The Horsham Clinic also offers partial hospitalization services for children, teens, and adults at our main campus in Ambler, and at our Chester County and Delaware County partial programs. Job Summary:

The Addictions Counselor assesses the patients drug and alcohol history to establish treatment goals and provides therapeutic and educational services in a manner consistent with the philosophy of the Horsham Clinic

Requirements:

  • Certification of CADC, CAADC required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Therapy, Counseling or similar. (If candidates have a bachelors, they must have an active and qualifying certification)
  • Minimum 1 year of progressive experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Experience in Group Therapy required.
  • Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/ aggressive behavior. General hospital environment.
  • Must be willing to work with a variety of patient populations: adults, adolescents, and dual diagnosed.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of behavioral mental health, nursing clinical practices, and management
  • Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities
  • Highly Developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency with common computer-based applications such as EMR, electronic mail, word processing and various databases.
