Major Responsibilities:
- Patient care needs are assessed in a systematic manner in order to develop a plan of care considering age-specific client needs
- 1)Interviews and obtains patient history utilizing direct and indirect sources of data.
- 2)Assesses psychiatric problems of clients in systematic way and documents appropriately.
- Appropriate interventions are performed based on the assessed client needs.
- 1)Utilizes individual, family, couples and group treatment modalities as the primary means for treating patients.
- 2)Conducts “outreach” to clients to engage clients successfully in treatment planning and programming
- 3)Utilizes a broad range of community social service agencies and organizations to complement or enhance treatment interventions. Refers clients to other human service organizations when necessary (i.e. specialized service organizations such as alcohol treatment centers/halfway houses
- 4)Performs basic administrative tasks related to job functions and documents and records activities/information in client’s charts, etc. per the policy and procedures of the Community Mental Health Center and Advocate-Ravenswood Hospital policies.
Education/Experience Required:
- Completion of all course work for doctoral degree in psychology
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
