We are hiring a full-time Pediatric Occupational Therapist Lead to serve as department lead and manage a community-based Early Intervention caseload on the Northside of Chicago, primarily serving the 60641 zip code and surrounding areas.

  • Meaningful Impact: You will work closely with infants and toddlers with diverse diagnoses and their families, empowering them to achieve critical developmental milestones in their natural environment (home and community).
  • Autonomy & Growth: This role offers significant independence and accountability with flexible scheduling within Monday-Friday business hours. You'll have plenty of room for professional advancement and the opportunity to mentor Occupational Therapists and students.

As an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist Team Lead, you will be a vital member of a leadership team and the child's care team with the following responsibilities:

  • Leadership Position :This role requires a dedicated professional to serve as a first point of contact to the OT team.
  • New Hire Training: Conduct training on documentation protocols and processes for new hires.
  • Mentorship: Be a mentor for the OT team, promoting strong clinical practice and team cohesion.
  • Team Round Table: Organize and lead an ongoing, monthly round table discussion with the OT team.
  • Shadowing: Be available to shadow clinical sessions.
  • Daily Support: Be available to field everyday questions from therapists regarding clinical concerns, diagnoses, and documentation.
  • Job & Patient Support: Address any concerns related to the job, and provide direct support with complex patients or diagnoses.
  • Team Meetings: Attend team meetings.
  • Management: Reciprocally communicate with management.
  • Policy Development: Creation or modification of policies and procedures.
  • Employee Check-ins: Conduct employee check-ins to proactively address questions/concerns.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Evaluate children using expert clinical judgment and standardized testing to determine appropriate OT diagnoses and interpret results.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based, goal-oriented Occupational Therapy Plans of Care.
  • Family-Centered Care: Coach and instruct families/caregivers on effective home exercise programs and therapeutic strategies to promote carry-over into daily routines.
  • Documentation & Coordination: Complete all required reporting for the Illinois Early Intervention program (e.g., SOAP notes, evaluations, progress notes) in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Maintain strong communication with children, families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team of medical and non-medical professionals.
  • Service Delivery: Provide both face-to-face and telehealth occupational therapy sessions in home and community settings.
  • Professional Development: Act as a clinical instructor to students and a mentor to the OT team.

Qualifications & Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are strong communicators and highly effective at time management with a proven sense of accountability.

Job requirements:
● Minimum 6 month pediatric experience required
● Valid Illinois occupational therapy license preferred
● Valid Illinois Early Intervention credential preferred

● Must have permission to work in the United States

● Must have a reliable source of transportation and a valid Illinois drivers license if driving
● Candidates must provide valid and up to date proof of vaccination for COVID-19, TDAP, Influenza

● Candidates must provide a valid and up to date negative TB test

● CPR certification required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
