Experteer Overview In this Principal Psychiatrist role, you contribute to a public mental health system by providing advanced psychiatric care and leadership across multiple facilities. You join a collaborative, interdisciplinary team focused on improving clients’ well-being and supporting staff development in a mission-driven public health environment. You’ll balance clinical duties with supervisory and program development responsibilities, influencing treatment models and quality improvements. This is a meaningful opportunity to shape behavioral health services at scale in Connecticut. Compensation / Benefits • Provide 24-hour clinical supervision and facility coverage, including on-call and weekend duties • Oversee and participate in rounds, direct patient care, and multidisciplinary teams • Coordinate medical staff work with related programs and review treatment plans for policy compliance • Lead education and training initiatives (grand rounds, case conferences) • Supervise on-site physicians/psychiatrists and participate in policy and program development • Conduct risk assessments, consult on complex cases, and perform QA/QI process improvements • Prepare and review medical records, reports, and utilization management activities • Attend court hearings as needed • Engage in related duties as required Tasks • Board certification in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) or board certification in Adult or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry • License to practice medicine in Connecticut (or temporary license up to 1 year) • Eligibility for participation in federal health care programs (42 USC 1320a-7b(f)) • May require bilingual abilities and/or subspecialty certifications (geriatrics, forensics, etc.) • Strong collaboration and supervisory capabilities Key requirements • Recruitment incentive $30,000 • Board-certified bonus $3,000 annually • Second board certification bonus $5,000 annually • Voluntary on-call and weekend coverage with additional reimbursement • 16 hours per month Continuing Medical Education • Professional growth and a healthy work/life balance
