Experteer Overview In this per diem role you deliver psychiatric care in the Emergency Department and provide Consultation‑Liaison services for patients on medical floors. You work within a four-service psychiatry department and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to support acute and complex cases. You help with assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and risk assessments, with transfers arranged to partner hospitals when inpatient care is needed. The position offers flexibility with optional virtual call and aligns with our patient‑centered mission. Compensation / Benefits • Perform diagnostic assessments and deliver psychiatric treatment in ED/CL settings • Collaborate effectively with the mental health team and other clinical staff • Document accurately in the electronic medical record for psychiatric patients • Support department productivity and efficient operations • Maintain positive patient and guest relations • Provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan per policies and procedures • Participate in academic training of medical house staff and Yale medical students • Conduct suicide risk assessments and crisis intervention as part of care Tasks • MD in Psychiatry with CT license and DEA • Experience in ED/CL service handling full range of psychiatric interventions • NY license required within 6 months of hire (cost covered by hospital) • Board certification in Psychiatry preferred or board-eligible Key requirements • comprehensive health, dental, vision insurance • retirement plan • paid time off • relocation assistance • mortgage program • commuter benefits
