Under the immediate supervision of the Director of School Based Mental Health Services, performs assigned therapy and skills training services.


EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Interviews consumers, their relatives, and other interested individuals and agencies to obtain social and developmental histories to discover social/psychological problems.
  • Performs therapeutic treatment with consumers or relatives of consumers, under supervision of the Unit Director or Supervisor in consultation with a psychiatrist or other physician.
  • Participates as a team member in conferences designed for the diagnosis and treatment of consumers.
  • Participates in the interpretation of methods and procedures to agencies responsible for carrying out recommendations of the clinic.
  • May supervise volunteers and students/interns.
  • Acts as liaison between all appropriate agencies, Lorena ISD, physicians, relatives of consumers and community resources for purposes of admission, treatment and discharge planning.
  • May participate in budget planning, unit administration, and program development.
  • Increases knowledge of Psychotherapeutic, Skill streaming, and social work concepts by attendance.
  • Performs related work as required.

Education and Experience:
  • A master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related fields from an accredited school.
  • Fully licensed (LPC, LCSW, RN, etc) or licensure candidate (LPC- Associate, LMSW, etc.)
  • One year case management preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of therapy and social work.
  • Needs to be knowledgeable about the functioning of social services, treatment facilities, and community resources, and how to use them effectively.
  • Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn about and implement trauma-informed care practices within the scope of work for the position.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs.
  • Must be able to travel locally 5%; Regionally 30% and be able to transport clients.
  • Must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of the job duties and ability to maintain regular attendance as set forth in Center policies and procedures.

Salary: $48,150-$64,000 Annual DOE

Hours: M-F 8AM-5PM:
