Summary:

This Family Intake Therapist will provide services to psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. Will provide intake assessments to determine the appropriate level of care and treatment for patients. Will conduct family assessments, provide case management, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. Will participate in group therapy, multi-disciplinary treatment, diagnostic conferences, and diagnostic interviews. Manages patients' mental health benefits and keeps informed of all information regarding the patient's treatment and their payor. Available for Intake on-call or as-needed basis.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Child growth and development education.
  • Experience providing family therapy/intervention.
  • Behavioral Health pediatric experience (preferred).
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting (preferred).
  • Experience with inpatient, PHP and or intake (preferred).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).


Required Certification/Licensure:

  • LCSW or LPC with the state of Texas.
  • Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health.
  • CPR Heartsaver within 60 days of start date.
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 must be completed within 60 days of start date.
