Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Your primary focus will be to support clients in achieving their goals through applied behavior analysis techniques and to foster a positive environment that promotes learning and growth.

** RBT preferred but not required

Duties

  • Implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis principles.
  • Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress towards goals.
  • Assist in the development of behavior intervention strategies tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Educate clients and their families about behavioral therapy techniques and strategies for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with agency policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive approach to client care.
  • Provide support in various settings, including home, school, or community environments.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social skills and independence.

Experience

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records management is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health practices and data collection methods is essential.
  • Previous experience in implementing behavioral therapy techniques is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively educate clients and families about treatment plans.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Important Pre-Onboarding Note (Insurance Requirements)
Before starting with clients, credentialing can take time and requires the following documents. Please be prepared — most of these are standard for ABA providers:

  • TB Test – must be completed within the last 90 days.
  • CPR Certification – valid for 2 years; Red Cross or National CPR Foundation accepted (must include provider’s name + valid dates).
  • Driver’s License (or other government-issued photo ID if expired / not driving).
  • Social Security Number (card or just the number).
  • NPI Number and RBT Number – must be 10 digits starting with “1.” and RBT-"number"-"numbers"
  • Diploma – minimum High School for BTs .
  • Auto Insurance – if driving, proof with provider’s name listed.
  • Resume/CV – at least 1-5 years of work history or all upper education history if applicable.
  • FBI/DOJ Fingerprinting (Live Scan) – required in California.
  • Emergency Contact Information – name, phone, relationship.
