Responsibilities
The Department of Psychology at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology with a start date in August 2026. Area of specialization and research is open.
Responsibilities will include conducting and publishing research in Clinical Psychology, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and providing service to the department through work on committees.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. or the highest degree appropriate from an accredited institution in Clinical Psychology or a related field is required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research program, high likelihood of obtaining extramural funding, potential for excellence in teaching and mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students, and the ability to train graduate students in our APA-accredited clinical psychology program. Candidates with lines of research in any area of Clinical Psychology are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Psychology faculty are very active in research, with Ph.D. programs in clinical, cognitive, neuroscience, social, and developmental psychology. The department has an outstanding research infrastructure, relatively new laboratory space, and a fully-staffed electronics and machine shop. Faculty have access to core equipment and resources (e.g., a confocal microscope and common-use histology/molecular laboratory in the building and numerous other shared resources across the department and campus).
FSU has a state-of-the-art research-dedicated MRI center featuring a 3T Siemens Prisma scanner, an MR-compatible high-density EEG system, MR-compatible TMS and tES systems, as well as peripheral equipment. Our department has a favorable teaching load and a collegial atmosphere.
