Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensing Requirements
Prior to providing services as outlined in this Agreement, Contractor shall:
a. Ensure that each temporary relief LMFT shall possess and maintain throughout the term of this Agreement, a current and valid LMFT license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science in order to perform services in the State of California.
b. Provider shall comply with all federal, State, and local requirements including the California
Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 22, Division 5, Chapter 12, Article 1, Section 79543.
a. Vendor shall provide copies of any required licenses, permits, registrations, and/or certifications for each MFT to to Management Solution to be uploaded and maintained in the web-based system throughout the term of this Agreement. Vendor shall ensure that all required licenses, permits, registrations, certifications, and any other requirements outlined herein are current and in effect at all times during the term of this Agreement.
b. In the event the required licenses, permits, registrations, and/or certifications are to expire, Vendor shall provide current/renewed registrations, licenses, permits and/or certifications to Management Solution not less thirty (30) calendar days prior to their expiration. If, during the course of this Agreement, any of the licenses and/or requirements are found to be inactive or not in compliance, Correctional Facility may withhold payment for services rendered during the expiration period and/or immediately terminate this Agreement.
c. Vendor shall verify through the appropriate licensing boards that no current or unresolved adverse actions have been taken by the State licensing authorities against any MFT assigned to Correctional Facility, and that all licenses are active and void of misconduct. Correctional Facility may, at its discretion, verify the current status of certification for any MFT
assigned.
LMFT Qualifications:
LMFT assigned to Correctional Facility performing services under this Agreement must have the minimum qualifications outlined below:
a. Minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein, in a public or private institution. Internship does not count towards the required experience.
b. Must have the required licenses, permits, registrations, and/or certifications noted herein.
c. Education: Completion of a master's degree program from an accredited school for Marriage and Family Therapy, that meets the requirements stipulated in Business and Professional Code 4980.36.
Service Delivery Requirements
The temporary/relief LMFT shall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice for a MFT in accordance with institution/facility policies and procedures. Under the direction/supervision of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker or designee, LMFT’s duties/responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Conduct assessments, and provides clinical treatment interventions such as brief counseling, group therapy, and individual counseling.
b. Consults and collaborates with other disciplines for the care and treatment of patients and participates in interdisciplinary care planning and coordination.
c. Performs assessments that assist with and facilitates transitional care planning and coordination that links patients with community resources and services as they release from Correctional Facility.
d. Conducts assessments to determine appropriate level of intervention, education, and counseling services within the context of marriage, couples and family systems as well as individual biopsychosocial dimensions with specific solution-focused, attainable
therapeutic goals.
e. Conducts Cognitive Behavior Therapy for individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), either in 1:1 and/or group settings to modify intrapersonal and interpersonal behaviors.
f. Conducts assessments for patients preparing for release from Correctional Facility.
g. Provides education and counseling services to individuals that encourage the development of life skills and strategies for coping and confronting issues related to SUD.
h. Develops and/or contributes to treatment and care plans.
i. Reviews patient files, gathers data, and completes reports and other required documentation.
j. Makes recommendations to the care teams, effectively communicates, and collaborates with the patient and all disciplines involved in the care of the patients.
k. Documents and evaluates patients’ progress with programming and facilitates discharges and transfers in coordination with other treatment and rehabilitative programs.
l. Works with institutional rehabilitative partners and custody staff to assess patient’s participation and progress in services.
m. Attends all case conferences, trainings, meetings and committees as directed, and performs other duties as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
