Behavioral Health Clinician (ACSW or LCSW)
The Ryan White Social Worker provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed behavioral health services to individuals living with HIV enrolled in the Ryan White Program. Working as part of an integrated care team, the clinician will deliver individual, couples, family, and group counseling grounded in evidence-based practices. This position re-quires a deep understanding of the biopsychosocial model and the social determinants of health (SDOH), with a demonstrated commitment to health equity and social justice through a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) framework.
Location: Midtown Clinic (Sacramento, 95811).

Pay Details
- ACSW: $76,632.39 - $96,917.43
- LCSW: $102,304.07 - $129,384.56
- Provide direct clinical services including individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy to clients living with HIV.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, risk screenings, and treatment planning in alignment with client goals and Ryan White standards.
- Apply trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based clinical modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate closely with transdisciplinary care teams including medical providers, nurses, medical assistants, and case managers to ensure coordinated care.
- Integrate the SDOH framework into clinical assessments and treatment planning, addressing barriers to wellness such as housing, stigma, trauma, and systemic inequities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations, including HRSA Ryan White standards.
- Participate in clinical supervision, multidisciplinary case conferences, and staff development activities.
- Remain current on best practices in HIV care, sexual health, and LGBTQIA+ affirming mental health treatment.
- Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Registered as an ASW or holds an LCSW in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Demonstrated experience working with people living with HIV and an understanding of HIV-related healthcare.
- Proficiency in DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and experience with co-occurring disorder assessment and treatment planning.
- Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing and trauma-focused care; familiarity with CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Active CPR and BLS Certification.
- FQHC Experience
- Experience with Health Information Systems; health data collection, management and analysis; and Quality Improvement strategies.
- Experience and/or knowledge in management of and compliance with the federal HRSA- HIV/AIDS Bureau grant funding.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across a broad spectrum of backgrounds and perspectives. Candidates who demonstrate inclusive thinking and interpersonal awareness help strengthen our commitment to equitable and compassionate care for all.
- Demonstrated person-centered approach and familiarity with trauma informed systems and restorative practices.
