About Job

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


A full-time opportunity is available for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a valid PPS Credential to provide mental health services within an elementary school setting. This contract position offers the chance to support young students emotional and behavioral well-being throughout the school year.

Location: San Diego, CA

Job Duration: Current School Year (CSY)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct counseling and therapy services to elementary-aged students and their families
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop individualized intervention plans
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and families to support student success and safety
  • Maintain detailed progress notes and comply with all school, state, and licensing regulations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current and valid California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license
  • Possession of a PPS Credential (Pupil Personnel Services) required
  • Experience working with children in school-based settings preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team focused on student well-being
