Education
This position has primary responsibility for mental health services and case management services to adolescents and their families. The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) provides mental health services (including assessment and evaluation) and other services to clients referred to the TEAMMATES programs. Provides therapeutic services, including but not limited to individual and family therapy, collaterals, crisis intervention skill building, and treatment planning. The Mental Health Specialist is an active contributor in multidisciplinary teams and will assist various team members as needed to provide services to families or assist with case management or developing plans for the family. He/she acts as a liaison with external agencies and functions on teams with other clinical & non-clinical staff. The Mental Health Specialist will attend various client and family meetings, such as Child & Family Team (CFT) meetings, psychoeducation groups, plan development meetings, as well as various external and community meetings. May be requested to obtain additional training and certifications as needed.

What You Bring To SBHG (qualifications)
Education
- Master's degree in Mental Health, Human Services, or closely related field.
- One (1) year experience in the mental health field, and direct service experience with severely emotionally disturbed children, adolescents, adults, and families; experience with high-risk populations. Experience with children, adolescents, and adults with dual diagnosis in residential or outpatient settings.
- MHS II: Registered with CA BBS as an AMFT, ACSW or APCC.
- MHS III: Licensed in California as a LMFT, LCSW or LPCC.
- Valid California Driver's License.

- Community-Based and Family Centered programs.
- TEAMMATES offers Wraparound, Intensive Field Capable Clinical Services (IFCCS) and IFCCS Outreach Triage Team and Child Outreach Triage Team services that cover a full range of treatment and support.
- 24 hours of referral receipt, and services are delivered countywide by the same team
- 24-hour Crisis Intervention
- SED Children and Adolescent driven program.
- Client and Family driven program with mutually agreed by service provider and family.
- Contract with DMH and Child Protected Services and Probation.
