Job Title: Housing Case Manager
Reports To: Housing Coordinator (Refugee & Immigrant Center)

Principle Function

The Housing Case Manager will work closely with our Housing Coordinator and agency leadership to ensure excellence in service delivery, administrative tasks and reporting outcomes according to program goals. In addition, work with clients from intake to exit; providing case management and connecting them to voluntary support services to address barriers to housing stability such as employment, financial stability, ESL, and behavioral health.

This role is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the Housing Coordinator and is a 100% on-site role unless there are meetings, training, or other approved exceptional circumstances.

Major Responsibilities

· Housing Case Management

- Conduct housing needs assessment and complete forms in compliance with project requirements.

- Engage directly with refugees, immigrants, asylees, and victims of human trafficking to identify housing needs and priorities.

- Assist clients with money management and issues with roommates or landlords.

- Connect clients to in-house and community resources that address their individualized needs including employment, behavioral health, and youth programs.

- Facilitate rental check delivery directly to landlord on behalf of clients.

- Work in collaboration with community service providers to expedite services for clients.

- Monitor housing-related funds utilized to support clients in their housing stability; keep documentation of each instance of assistance.

- Collect data to track grant activities and assist project management in reporting including tracking client data on sites such as DWS-TEVS and UHMIS.

- Develop rapport and communication with both property managers and program clients.

- Build relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing authorities.

- Provide presentations and conduct other public relations activities related to housing as requested.

- Maintain working knowledge of all in-house housing programs, forms, and requirements, and coordinate with housing team/programs to provide a seamless experience for clients.

- Comply with all record keeping (e.g., case notes, client forms, etc.) requirements, entering data into appropriate databases and creating client hard files.

- Attend and participate in agency staff meetings and trainings.

- Perform other tasks as identified and assigned; this may include but not limited to general case management, outreach and education activities, and interpreting and translating.

Job Qualifications

· Minimum Qualifications

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities.

- Demonstrated appropriate decisiveness and creative problem-solving when making decisions regarding next steps for cases.

- Ability to follow directions, manage time, work well under pressure, and maintain composure during stressful situations.

- Access to a personal vehicle, proof of valid driver's license, auto insurance, current registration, good driving record and passing a background check is required.

· Preferred Qualifications

- A bachelor’s degree is preferred in social work or related field.

- Social Service Worker (SSW) license with knowledge/familiarity with Arizona Self Sufficiency Matrix assessment.

- Experience working with refugees and immigrants.

- Must be able to function as part of a team.

- PC proficiency, competent with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Must be a self-starter with a high level of organizational skill, flexibility, and commitment to refugees.

- Fluency in English and one of the following languages is preferred: Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, or Kinyarwanda.

Compensation Package

- Salaried non-exempt position; $20–21.84/hour rate DOE.

- Full medical, dental, and vision benefits available after 30 days of employment.

- Paid Time Off earned at 6.5 hours per pay period available after 30 days of employment.

- Retirement package with agency contribution of 6%, no match required; available after 1 year of employment.
