Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various therapeutic modalities and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality mental health care. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children and families, to assess needs, develop treatment plans, and deliver effective therapeutic interventions.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine mental health needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Develop and maintain treatment plans based on patient assessments and ongoing evaluations.
- Engage in home and community care as needed, ensuring holistic support for patients.
- Document patient progress accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including maintaining medical records and documentation of clinical interactions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and provide case management services.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on behavioral health topics, addiction counseling, and PTSD care.
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for patients with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Conduct clinical research as needed to support evidence-based practices within the organization.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with children and families is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation practices.
- Strong skills in crisis management and behavioral management techniques.
- Knowledge of special education principles and experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Ability to collect data effectively for clinical research purposes.
- Commitment to Christian counseling principles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds. Pay: $68,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
