A school social worker opportunity is available for the upcoming school year in Aurora, IL. This position serves K-12 students within a school setting, focusing on supporting the social and emotional needs of students to promote academic success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement intervention plans in collaboration with educators, families, and community resources
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students facing challenges impacting their school performance
  • Advocate for students needs and facilitate connections to external support services
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student development
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with relevant laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or appropriate state licensure for school social work
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of K-12 education systems and community resources
