The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education to the community with a focus on mental illness, substance use addiction, and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Norfolk CSB provides services to persons in acute crisis as well as integrated, person-centered, and recovery-oriented programming for persons needing assistance and support stabilizing in the community.
Today, the NCSB provides treatment and rehabilitation services to over 6,000 Norfolk citizens yearly. Norfolk CSB seeks team members interested in providing skilled services in a public service environment. The NCSB is seeking a passionate licensed-eligible Emergency Services Counselor I to join the team in providing critical support to individuals in behavioral health crises. In this role, you'll conduct thorough assessments, connect individuals and their families with appropriate community-based services, and help divert them from State Hospital care when possible. Your expertise will guide both adults and children through various stages of crisis and stabilization, including those with co-occurring health, developmental, and social vulnerabilities. Additionally, you'll provide clinical supervision, conduct pre-admission screenings, and offer valuable consultation to staff, all within a collaborative, supportive team environment.
