About Job
The purpose of Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO), Inc. is to assist people in need in our community, those who suffer the effects of long-term poverty as well as those who are experiencing an emergency financial need. To that end, we provide food and financial assistance to help families or individuals through a crisis. We offer access to donated clothing, school supplies, and household goods such as bed linens, cookware, and small appliances to ease the burden of those who struggle with long-term low income. We conduct a large holiday meal program for families and a Christmas gift program for children.,
Volunteer needed on Friday mornings who is interested in working directly with clients. This position entails interviewing clients, updating written records, assessing clients' needs, and referring clients to other organizations for further assistance, if needed. ECHO will train the volunteer as he or she learns our processes. Spanish speaker a plus. This position requires a weekly commitment. The ability to commit to long-term volunteering (at least one year) is also required.
