About Job
This position will work directly with the Executive Director, Animal Care Manager, and other administrative staff and in daily operations of the shelter. Along with direct contact with animals, this position provides customer service to the public during our open hours. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Receive phone calls and phone messages
- Respond to emails
-Create social media adoption content as needed
- Process adoption applications
- Conduct adoption counseling/pet matchmaking
- Maintain accurate database of animals on shelter/reclaimed/adopted
- Maintain food bank records
- Assist customers/donors/adopters in the lobby
-Assist volunteers as needed
-Conduct Meet and Greets with dogs
-Conduct volunteer orientation monthly
-Uphold stipulations of Hills adoption program
-Maintain cleanliness of shelter
-attend events/meetings as necessary
-Assist the shelter director
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-Must be comfortable handling a variety of dogs/cats
-Must be able to read/write English (Spanish knowledge a bonus)
-Computer skills a bonus
-Must be professional and tactful in stressful situations
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
-Previous Animal experience a bonus
