Guidance Counselor Portage High School

School counselors work to maximize student success, promoting access and equity for all students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist students with academic planning and goal setting
• Collaboration with families/teachers/administrators/community to achieve student success
• Advocate for students at IEP meeting and other student focused meetings
• Data analysis to identify student issues, needs, and challenges
• Acting as a systems change agent to improve equity and access, achievement and opportunities for all students
• Assist students in planning for post secondary options (higher education, military, work force)
• All other duties as assigned

Minimal Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in school counseling preferred
• Meet the state certification/licensure standards
• Fulfill CE requirements
• Uphold ASCA ethical and professional standards.
