Current School-Based Position available:

Position:

Licensed Social Worker for Mental Health Resource Specialist – LSW required 10 Month Position.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Mental Health Resource Specialist/Social Worker position candidates must have their LSW.

Job Duties (may include but not limited to):

  • Work to decrease truancy by working with both families and school district employees to link the student and their family with available support and resources.
  • Attend appropriate truancy court hearings, as needed.
  • Be the point of contact for all mental health related needs at assigned school.
  • Conduct support sessions/therapy to meet IEP requirements.
  • Administer evaluations/assessments including clinical assessments to determine possible mental health diagnosis and treatment and recommendations and therapy sessions and related support as directed by school personnel.
  • Crisis Assistance
  • Create trainings and education for school staff regarding mental health/coping skills.
  • Social skills/coping skills training for students
  • Completion of Service Provider Evaluation Log as instructed by school district.
  • Knowledge of and linkages to needed community resources as well as identification of needed services and supports that could be developed and implemented.
  • Facilitate student referral to and transition from mental health providers/services of all levels of treatment (outpatient, partial hospitalization, inpatient, etc.) and follow-up and implementation of reintegration plans for students who are returning to school from hospitalizations and/or facility stays; and comprehensive follow up to all clients served.
  • Conduct virtual support sessions/therapy for all Edgenuity/cyber students.
  • Participate in meetings as necessary (staff meetings, trainings, IEP meetings, community forums, etc.)
  • Provide classroom presentations for students with targeted topics to deal with several topics that impact mental health.

Qualified candidates must have a Master's Degree in Social Work to be considered for the position. All employees must provide a FBI Clearance, PA State Criminal Clearance, and a Child Abuse Certificate as well as the Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training certificate.
