How will you make an impact in this role?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Press Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The Pre-Press Manager will be responsible for overseeing the pre-press department, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of print-ready files for production. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical expertise, knowledge of folding carton structures and the ability to manage a team effectively.


A Day in the Life:

  • Manage and oversee the pre-press department, including scheduling, workflow, and personnel.
  • Ensure all print-ready files are prepared accurately and meet the company's quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure seamless transitions from design to print and ensuring customer approved artwork is available to meet production requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any pre-press issues that may arise.
  • Interact with clients about layouts and designs.
  • Maintain and update pre-press equipment and software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Train and mentor pre-press staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in pre-press technology and techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.


What does it take to be successful in this role?


Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a pre-press role in a related industry (i.e., industrial printing, folding carton or corrugated packaging, etc.)
  • Strong technical knowledge of pre-press processes, including file preparation, color management, and proofing.
  • Familiar with printing press capabilities, mandatory copy requirements, bar code capabilities, etc to ensure artwork is reproducible in a production requirement.
  • Proficiency in pre-press software such as Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, illustrator and design), Esko Software, and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Requirements

Our teammates come from diverse backgrounds that help us innovate new possibilities daily. While the qualifications listed below are preferred, they are not required.

  • 2+ years leading a team, preferably as a pre-press supervisor/manager or in a related role.
  • Knowledge of G7 and GFI.
  • Associate’s/bachelor's degree in graphic arts, printing technology, or a related field.
