About the Role:
The School Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a crucial role in supporting students with special needs in an educational setting. This position focuses on implementing individualized behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to promote positive behavior and learning outcomes. The RBT will work closely with students, teachers, and related service providers to foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages student growth and development. By collecting data on student progress and behavior, the RBT will help inform ongoing treatment strategies and adjustments. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to enhance the educational experience for students with special needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive academically and socially.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current RBT certification.
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a school setting.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans as directed by BCBAs.
- Collect and record data on student behavior and progress.
- Provide direct support to students in classroom settings, promoting positive behavior.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for effectively interacting with students, teachers, and parents. Data collection and analysis skills are crucial, as the RBT will need to track student progress and report findings to the BCBA. Patience and empathy are vital in understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by students with learning and behavioral challenges. Additionally, organizational skills will help the RBT manage multiple students and their individual needs efficiently. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of ABA principles, will enhance the RBT's ability to implement effective strategies and contribute to the overall success of the students.
Pay Range:
$25-35 per hour based on degree and experience
