FUNCTION
The Residential Counselor is essential in implementing and monitoring residents' service plans. They serve as positive role models, ensure safe and clean living conditions, assist with meal preparation and daily activities, help transport residents, and foster personal growth through active participation in training opportunities.
REPORTABILITY
Reports directly to: Residential Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides support to residents of community living and supporting living arrangements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for daily care and instruction in residential homes.
- Documents activities according to guidelines.
- Provides transportation using agency vehicle.
- Offers individualized training, assistance, and choices to individuals as described in the Individual Program Plan.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Maintains professionalism when engaging with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to obtain and maintain State of CT certification for medication administration during employment.
- Consistent completion of work-related tasks.
CORE COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, 21+ years of age. Clean criminal background and driving record required.
- A history of reliable work habits.
- Top consideration given to those with related experience and motivation to improve the lives of persons with/ disabilities.
- Successful experience working with individuals exhibiting challenging medical, physical, and behavioral needs.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position starting at $17.77 per hour.
The schedule is Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
