Envision Healthcare at Home was established in 2005 by six healthcare professionals who wanted to make a difference in their community.
Envision is currently looking to hire a Part-Time Intake Coordinator to cover while our other staff are out of the office. The person in this role will need to be local and based in Washington State, and this role is work-from-home.
This role has the potential to grow to Full Time.
Job Summary:
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for the admission process for new patients by ensuring the availability of reimbursement for services and identifying the clinical team to deliver care.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing all aspects of the patient intake process, including communicating directly with patients and families.
- Receives referrals from physicians and facilities and initiates the intake process.
- Data entry, Customer service, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources.
- Responding to customer requests and concerns
- Calls physician offices, hospitals, or other referral sources to obtain additional demographic and payer sources information in order to verify insurance eligibility and
benefits for referral as needed. - Managing the insurance verification and authorization process
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal referral /intake regulatory requirements.
- Utilizes electronic medical records to access and input patient information.
- Shares essential patient information with all members to coordinate care.
- Obtaining authorizations for service requests from non-Medicare pay sources.
- Coordinates with Marketing and Clinical Director to ensure required documentation is obtained from a physician.
- Participate in the orientation of new employees.
Job Requirements:
- Must have a High School degree or GED
- 2 years of administrative healthcare experience are required.
- At least a year of administrative healthcare experience is required in a healthcare office.
- Highly organized, able to track work and completed tasks, and must be able to multitask.
- Must have administrative experience in either Hospice, Palliative, or Home Health
- Must have experience with many different medical software and applications, EMRs, and different systems for communication.
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Hospice experience is highly preferred, specifically in referrals/intake.
- Knowledge of the Washington State area is very helpful.
- Strong computer skills with competence in electronic intake and phone triage
- Effective communication, positive attitude, and a team player
- Excellent customer service skills and commitment to quality patient care
- Knowledge of medical terminology
All pay rates are open to negotiation.
