Description:

The Intake Coordinator Intern will support the intake team by assisting with administrative tasks related to new case submissions, documentation, and client communication. This position provides hands-on exposure to healthcare operations, customer service best practices, and compliance standards, helping build skills critical to careers in healthcare administration, public health, or related fields.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with reviewing incoming referral and intake requests for completeness and accuracy.
  • Enter intake information into case management systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners to obtain missing information and clarify case details.
  • Support tracking and management of open intake requests to ensure prompt follow-up and resolution.
  • Prepare and organize intake documentation in accordance with company policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline intake operations.
  • Collaborate with Intake Coordinators, Case Managers, and leadership on special projects as assigned.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate from an accredited college or university.
  • Academic focus in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Internship Details

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10–40 hours per week (flexible based on academic schedule), between the hours of 9am to 5pm.
  • Duration: 8–12 weeks, with potential extension up to 16 weeks
  • Interns are considered non-exempt employees and are eligible for overtime. This internship provides structured mentorship, hands-on experience, and potential future employment opportunities.
