Join our team and be a part of something extraordinary as we embark on a new journey with our new 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams program.

988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams

The program operates throughout several counties in New Jersey providing mobile crisis outreach response services for adults through the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. This includes providing immediate and timely crisis intervention services, providing de-escalation and stabilization services in the community, and working to prevent hospitalization and law enforcement intervention when possible. Services are provided in via mobile outreach services throughout the region utilizing teams of two staff to provide both crisis assessment and support.

Pay: $18 to $20 / hour - depending upon education / experience

Hours: PART-TIME / Weekend shifts availabe include 3 pm until 11 pm and 11 pm until 7 am

Job Summary: The Peer Support Specialists will be expected to take the lead on engagement and may also conduct non-clinical assistance by providing support to consumers after the initial crisis has been resolved.

Responsibilities:
  • Required to demonstrate competency in providing peer-to-peer support prior to rendering services independently.
Qualifications:
  • Must be trained in crisis intervention and are expected to have at least 2 years of continuous recovery from an SMI or SUD diagnosis and at least one year of field experience working with community individuals.
  • Required to participate in DMHAS approved de-escalation, mental health crisis, substance use crisis, and suicide training.
  • Must possess a certification from at least one of the following credentialing entities: Addiction Professional Certification Board as a Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP) or a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS), Mental Health Association in New Jersey as a Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP); NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals as a National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS), Certified Wellness Coach, or Community Mental Health Associate certificate.
  • Required to participate in CPR and First Aid training and required to perform techniques as needed.
  • Required to complete annual Agency trainings, as well as job related trainings determined by position.
  • Travel using agency vehicle required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive and agency owned vehicle.
