  • Stay current on audition requirements, deadlines, and program expectations at top music schools and conservatories
  • Collaborate with PathIvy counselors and mentors to deliver a holistic application support experience

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Performance or a related discipline from a competitive college or university
  • Extensive background as a performer and/or educator, ideally with training from a selective music program
  • Experience coaching or mentoring students for college-level music auditions
  • Deep understanding of the audition processes and expectations at competitive music schools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for supporting young artists
  • Culturally responsive, student-centered mindset
  • Comfortable working virtually with consistent access to video conferencing tools

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience reviewing applications or auditions for music programs
  • Expertise in voice, piano, strings, or another high-demand instrument/discipline
  • Ability to guide students on both artistic and academic aspects of the college application process

Performance Milestones & Success Roadmap:

First 60 Days:

  • Complete onboarding and training on PathIvy’s approach, tools, and student support model
  • Shadow student mentorship sessions led by other counselors
  • Begin working with students preparing for music performance applications
  • Develop individualized audition preparation plans for each assigned student
  • Attend regular team check-ins and provide early feedback on process improvements

First 6 Months:

  • Deliver tailored guidance for pre-screening submissions, live audition prep, and supplemental application materials
  • Conduct mock auditions and coach students on performance presentation and confidence
  • Maintain detailed notes and student progress tracking using internal tools
  • Collaborate with academic counselors to ensure consistency across the admissions support process
  • Participate in internal training and professional development opportunities
  • Receive positive feedback from students and families on quality of support and mentorship

First 12 Months:

  • Serve as a go-to specialist on music admissions within the PathIvy team
  • Support refinements to internal best practices and audition coaching resources
  • Help lead training or workshops for new music performance counselors
  • Maintain strong student outcomes, with mentees earning auditions or offers from top programs
