General Functions: Serve as an integral member of the behavioral health team at a large social service agency. Primary functions include providing substance use outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment services, family treatment services, and DUI intervention services in the department's Co-occurring Disorders Program (CDP) and Bridge Program ("NEST") to persons with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and their families.
Specific Functions:
Provide individual and group substance use treatment via trauma-informed, gender-responsive, and evidenced-based practices, including but not limited to: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Seeking Safety.
Provide individual, group, and family treatment services that focus on attachment bonding, parenting supports and education, and resolving trauma histories.
Facilitate family education meetings for the benefit of the persons served and their primary supports and dependents.
Deliver and document substance use and/or mental health services to meet the needs of persons served, as indicated in their individual treatment and recovery plans. Treatment services may include:
--Rule 2060 and agency-required assessments, continuity of care, and discharge planning
--Level I Outpatient
--Level II Intensive Outpatient
--Therapy (Individual/Group/Family)
--Crisis Intervention
--Case Management
--Medication Training
--Community Support
--Integrated Assessment and Treatment Planning (IATP)
Conduct DUI Evaluations and Risk Education intervention services as assigned.
Facilitate weekly alcohol and drug testing.
Record the process and results of services within established timeframes and in sufficient detail to meet DBHR Rule 2060 and Rule 140, and/or other insurance billing requirements.
Complete discharge/transition planning for assigned caseload.
Maintain electronic case files in accordance with agency standards, including but not limited to updating face sheets, medications, releases, and consents.
Communicate on a regular basis with treatment team members, including the Medical Director, to ensure consistency in treatment and facilitation of the treatment plans.
Complete mental health assessments and provide treatment recommendations for mental health and substance use services, as assigned.
Complete substance use assessments, evaluate severity of substance use, and provide treatment recommendations for level of care using ASAM's patient placement criteria, as assigned.
Develop, coordinate, and provide documentation for Continued Stay Reviews and Discharge Plans according to established timeframes and criteria.
Meet (or exceed) assigned weekly billing quotas as determined by the Director of Professional Services.
Participate in monthly clinical supervision meetings, seek ongoing clinical supervision from supervisors, and participate in continuing education to maintain applicable licenses/certifications.
Participate in all agency and department trainings, monthly department meetings, and any additionally recommended trainings or meetings as required by supervisor(s).
Obtain and maintain annual IM+CANS certification per Medicaid Rule 140.
Obtain and maintain required Rule 2060 trainings, including but not limited to ASAM, DUI, and 2060 trainings.
Provide crisis intervention services for clients as needed.
Participate in Case Record Reviews and quarterly data collection of participants for the Performance Improvement outcome system.
- Maintain ongoing compliance with all agency-related training and certification requirements.
- Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather, and other hazards.
- Operate agency or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Own, maintain, and use personal smartphone for company business in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Must meet QMHP requirements per Medicaid Rule 140: master's degree in counseling, social work, counseling/clinical psychology, or related field required with successful completion of 1,000 hours of practicum and/or internship under clinical and educational supervision; or one year of documented clinical experience under the supervision of a QMHP. CADC and/or LPC/LSW required. LCPC/LCSW strongly preferred. Minimum one year prior experience working with substance use populations required. Experience counseling persons and families with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders strongly desired. Proficiency in the use of computers and typing as well as working knowledge of MS Word and MS Outlook applications required. Driving record and auto insurance coverage in compliance with agency policy required. A post-offer physical and criminal background check required. Reliable transportation required. EOE.
