Family Counselor – Arnette House, Inc. (Ocala, FL)

At Arnette House, Inc., our mission is to provide safe shelter, support, and guidance to youth and families in crisis. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Counselor to join our team. This is a meaningful opportunity to strengthen families, prevent out-of-home placements, and serve as a positive role model for at-risk youth.
As a Family Counselor, you will:
- Conduct intake screenings and psychosocial assessments for youth and families.
- Provide crisis intervention, individual, group, and family counseling in the shelter and the community.
- Create and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with youth, parents/guardians, and other key supports.
- Deliver case management services, including advocacy, coordination, referrals, and ongoing monitoring.
- Collaborate with the Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Children and Families, schools, and community agencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings, treatment teams, and outreach activities.
- Provide transportation for youth and families as needed.
- Serve as a positive role model, encouraging resilience, respect, and hope.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Master’s degree in a social/behavioral science field required.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of counseling adolescents.
- Character: Demonstrates strong ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Skills: Effective communicator, crisis problem-solver, and able to work with culturally diverse populations.
- Requirements: Valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance.
