A contract opportunity is available for a School Social Worker supporting middle school students in Northbrook, IL, starting January 26, 2026, through June 2, 2026. This full-time role requires working five days per week, approximately 7 to 7.5 hours per day, providing comprehensive social work services within the school environment to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Key responsibilities include assessing student needs, collaborating with teachers, parents, and administration, developing and implementing intervention plans, crisis intervention, and connecting families with community resources. The role demands strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to promoting a supportive school climate.

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with School Social Worker endorsement is required
  • Graduate degree from an accredited university with acceptable graduate coursework in social work
  • Completion of a defined period of supervised practical experience in social work
  • Experience working in a K-12 educational setting is preferred
  • Ability to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide counseling services suited to middle school students
