Job Description

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance use disorder, as well as an array of other related problems. Essential Duties

  • Develop patient treatment plans and conducts continued stay review based on research, clinical experience, and patients' histories - uses assessment programs on computer.
  • Provide patient intakes (biopsychosocial assessment), treatment planning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning and discharge with individual and group therapy for a full spectrum of referral sources.
  • Provide direct clinical service to a full caseload, achieving a minimum of 20 billable hours weekly.
  • Intervene as an advocate for patients or patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting patients (written authorization by patient must be obtained - refer to Federal Confidentiality Regulations for substance abuse treatment).
  • Maintain at least 50% of work time in face-to-face counseling, contacts.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Start Date: ASAP

Work Location: 310 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL

Pay Rate:$43,000 - $ 55,000 per year; based on certification and experience;Sign-on bonus available for certified candidates.

Required Experience

Education and/or Experience:High School Diploma/ GEDrequired;Experience in/with substance use, detox programs, medication-assisted treatment, behavioral healthcare and/or community relationsencouraged to apply.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC)required, or able to obtain within allottedtime of hire date.
