Resources for Independent Living (RIL) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization serving individuals across Southern New Jersey. Our programs empower people to live independently and thrive within their communities.
RIL provides a wide range of services including behavioral health counseling, independent living supports, case management, disability services, and community-based programs. Our team works with individuals of all ages and all abilities, supporting children, families, adults, veterans, and seniors.
As our behavioral health program continues to grow, we are expanding our clinical team and are seeking compassionate licensed therapists who want to help build a welcoming and accessible mental health program for the community.
Our counseling program is currently accepting new clients, and we are excited to welcome clinicians who want to grow their practice within a collaborative, mission-driven organization.
Position Overview
The Licensed Therapist will provide outpatient mental health counseling services to individuals across the lifespan. Our program emphasizes person-centered, trauma-informed care that helps individuals and families build coping skills, improve emotional wellness, and strengthen stability.
Therapists collaborate with interdisciplinary staff including case managers, independent living specialists, and community partners to provide coordinated care.

In-person counseling at our Bridgeton or Pennsville offices
Hybrid schedules combining in-office and telehealth sessions
Fully remote telehealth opportunities for qualified clinicians
Populations Served
Our program supports individuals of all ages and all disabilities. Clinicians may work with a wide range of populations depending on their experience and clinical interests, including:
Children and adolescents
Adults and families
Older adults and aging populations
Individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
Veterans and military families
Caregivers and family systems
Individuals navigating trauma, life transitions, or mental health challenges
Unique Therapy Environment
At our Bridgeton campus, therapists also have access to The Park @ RIL, a large community training and wellness environment that includes creative and experiential spaces that can be incorporated into therapeutic work.
This space includes:
Themed classrooms that can be used for group therapy and skill-building activities
Art and creative expression rooms
Indoor plant and nature-based spaces
Relaxation and sensory areas with massage chairs
Stage and presentation space for social development and confidence-building
Large collaborative spaces for workshops and community engagement
Clinicians who enjoy experiential, creative, or community-based therapy approaches have the opportunity to incorporate these environments into their work.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual mental health counseling and therapeutic services
Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Provide crisis intervention when necessary
Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and community partners
Participate in case consultations and team meetings
Support individuals in developing coping strategies and improving emotional wellness
Provide services using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
Required Qualifications
New Jersey licensure or eligibility for licensure in New Jersey as one of the following:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
Strong clinical and documentation skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-based environment
