Camp Modin has summer job openings on our Pioneering Team. Camp Modin is looking for motivated, energetic, positive, and caring individuals to join our staff for this summer! Many of our staff, from a variety of majors, have been able to get internship credit through their schools. We provide great salaries, as well as housing, laundry, and meals for the summer. A little bit about the job: As a counselor, you would be working and living in a cabin with a group of children (our kids range from 7-16 years) and participating in activities, sports, field trips, etc. What sets Modin apart is the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake and unparalleled access to Maine's pristine wilderness.

Our Pioneering Specialists are responsible for our Outdoor Pursuits and Adventures program. This program includes our Climbing Wall, our new High and Low Ropes courses, our Zipline, our Canoeing, Kayaking, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding program, and our overnight camping trips. As a Pioneering Specialist, you would be responsible for running overnight camping trips at our pioneering village, as well as leading hikes and other adventures (examples include boating trips, repelling trips, etc). You would also get involved with the campers in the bunks at meal times, in the evenings, and on trips. Some activity areas include:

  • Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Floor Hockey, Lacrosse, Tennis, Pickleball, Gymnastics
  • Water Activities: Swim Instruction, Waterski, Wakeboarding, Tubing, Kneeboarding, Paddleboarding, Canoe/Kayaking, Sailing
  • Creative Arts: Arts & Crafts, Ceramics, Guitar, Drums, Theater, Nature, Dance
  • Adventure: High Ropes Course, Climbing Tower, Camping, Outdoor Adventure

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience or knowledge in one (or more) of these areas: camping, hiking, rock climbing, high ropes courses, archery, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding
  • A passion for the outdoors
  • Motivated, Hardworking, Dedicated
  • Positive Individuals
  • Want to make a difference in the lives of kids
  • Experience working with kids is a plus
