NaphCare is hiring a Psychologist to join our team of medical professionals in the Perryville - Arizona Department of Corrections in Goodyear, Arizona.
Pay rates range from $60.00 to $74.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience.
Full Time and Part Time positions may be available!
As a Correctional Psychologist, you will provide psychological treatment and support to the facility residents while working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex mental health needs.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for Psychologist:
The Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological leadership, consultation and direct services for patients to help improve their mental health and reduce the risk of recidivism. Additional responsibilities may include and not be limited to:
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in providing assessment and treatment of mental and emotional disorders of patients.
- Working with inmates to prepare them for reintegration into society, providing support for finding housing, employment, and other resources.
- Providing counseling and support to help inmates manage emotional challenges, cope with incarceration, and develop coping mechanisms.
- Coordinating, leading and participating in educational training activities related to mental health care
- Conducting risk assessments to identify potential dangers to inmates and the public, informing decisions about housing, treatment, and release
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications / Skills
- Must hold a current, unrestricted Psychologist license in the STATE
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Experience with underserved and marginalized populations, including those with mental health and substance use disorders
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals, correctional staff and judges
- Ability to interpret and analyze data to create treatment plans
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
