Position Title: Middle/High School Adjustment CounselorReports to: Building Principal Quaboag Regional Middle/High SchoolPrimary Function: The Middle/High School Adjustment Counselor supports students social,emotional, and behavioral well-being to promote academic success andpersonal growth. This role involves providing counseling services, crisisintervention, and collaboration with staff, families, and outside agencies toaddress students individual needs.Qualifications: Masters degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field Appropriate state licensure/certification (e.g., School Adjustment Counselor, SchoolSocial Worker) Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or clinical setting preferred Knowledge of child development, behavioral interventions, and mental health practices Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsResponsibilities: Counseling & Direct Student Supportso Provide individual and small group counselingo Support Students dealing with: Mental Health Concerns Behavioral Challenges Social or peer issues Responsible for coordinating reentry meetings for students in a temporaryoutplacement Social-Emotional & Behavioral Interventionso Collaborates with BCBA/RBTso Teach coping skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolutiono Supports All Programmatic Staff and students, as well as all QRMHS students Special Education & Student Support Teamso Participates in IEP Meetings, 504 plan development, and Student interventionteamso Provides counseling services outlined in IEPso Tracks progress and writes reports on student outcomes Crisis Intervention & Risk Assessmento Respond to crises such as: suicidal ideation, behavioral escalations, trauma orfamily emergencieso Conduct risk assessments and safety planningo Help develop school crisis protocols Family & Community Engagemento Communicates regularly with familieso Connects students to outside mental health or social services when necessaryo Assists with Mandated Reportingo Collaboration with outside providerso Support families in addressing home-related challenges impacting school Prevention & School Climateo Collaborates around bullying prevention, peer mediation, and substance useeducationo Promotes a positive and inclusive school climateo Advocates for students' well-being and equityo Consults regularly with staff regarding Social Emotional LearningSalary: Per QEA ContractClosing Datefor Applications: May 31, 2026Start Date: August 28, 2026Apply to John Diorio, Principal-QRMHS284 Old West Brookfield RoadWarren, MA 01083Quaboag Regional School District ensures equal employment and educational opportunities for itsemployees and students.
